Monotonix, Oh My God

Well, I wish I would have know earlier that these guys were playing last night at Mohawk. It was the best live show I’ve ever seen. Period. Jesus H Darwin. They started the night by SETTING THE DRUMS ON FIRE, and then picked up all their instruments and played them in every conceivable corner of Mohawk, allowing no person to be unmolested by Israeli sweat and awesomeness.

Then… they left the building and played in the middle of Red River. Yeah. The crowd picked up the drums and the drummer kept playing the moving set. I just don’t know if I can ever have any higher expectations.

When I saw them at MFNW, the singer mooned everyone from high in a tree in front of Satyricon. I threw a half-opened feather mattress on top of the drummer whilst he was “crowd drumming.” Feathers went every which way. People went nuts. They were throwing their belongings around. There was an eighty gallon trash can in the mix. Total. Fucking. Insanity.
